Annual Cape Verdean-Jewish Passover Seder
April 4 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Come join us at this free event, as we celebrate the connections and shared history between the Cape Verdean and Jewish peoples. The Jewish holiday of Passover recalls the Biblical story of the Jews’ deliverance out of slavery in Egypt more than 3,000 years ago. It is a celebration of freedom. This year’s Seder (dinner) will include musical performances by Cape Verdean and Jewish artists; a presentation by Jewish and Cape Verdean youth; an award to Project Health CV, a group based in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center that organizes medical missions to Cape Verde; and lots of delicious Cape Verdean and Jewish food!
In this time of rising deportations and restricted immigration, and rising anti-semitism, we will defy division and hate and stand together – Cape Verdeans and Jews – united against any and all threats. This year’s themes will be Solidarity and Sanctuary.
