The New Consul General of Cabo Verde to the US, Herminio Moniz, started his tenure at the Quincy office on August 1st.
Moniz replaced the interim Consul Hercules Cruz who was leading this post since September of 2016, and has already introduced substantial improvements in the consulate services.
Consul Moniz is a career diplomat. He has served in various Cape Verde diplomatic missions, including in the Cape Verdean delegation to the United Nations in New York City from 2000 to 2006. He also served as the focal point at all higher level political dialogues on Migration and Development, and recently he was also a professor of International Relations at the Institute of Higher Education for Judicial Sciences and International Relations.
Herminio Moniz has a degree in International Relations and is accompanied by his wife Dina Lopes and four children.
