BOSTON, MA -- The Committee elected to create the conditions for the establishment of a Federation of the Cape Verdean Associations and Clubs in the United States is calling all the founding organizations to attend its first annual meeting.
The founding members started entertaining the project in the Brockton Forum of 2010 and the Bridgewater General Assembly of 2011.
The meeting will be held at the Ideal Club in Bridgewater, January 19, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 2:30PM.
Proposals of the bylaws, articles of incorporation, mission, vision and goals, as well as the organization Logo will be presented for review and approval by the member organizations. The organizations will also be called to elect an Executive Board and operating committees.
The membership in the National Alliance of Cape Verdean Organizations (NACVO) will provide access to collaborative event planning and technical assistance support.
The Mission of NACVO is to promote the interests of community-based organizations in the United States through policy analysis, advocacy, coordination, capacity-building, and representation of the communities that they serve.
The process was started a few years ago and when more than fifty Cape Verdean organizations met in 2011, they gave the mandate to the Consulate to oversee the creation of NACVO.
